Zokti James Alkali is a Doctor of Philosophy in food Technology; He was born on October 15th 1962 at Gwaska,Bagoro Local Government of Bauchi State. He is happily married with four children. He attended Lusa Primary School in the year 1978 He then, preceded to Govt. Sci. Sec. School Toro in 1983 He also attended Kaduna Polytechnic where he obtained a National Diploma in Science Technology from 1986 and Higher National Diploma (Microbiology) in 1991, He obtained a Master of Technology (M.Tech.) (Food Microbiology) from Federal University of Technology Akure, Ondo State in the year 2004. In 2016 he obtained Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) Food Technology from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM).
In his academic pursuit, he is in the academia for over 20years, he has taught different aspects of Food Technology at all level of undergraduate and postgraduate studies and supervised numerous undergraduate and presently supervising both MSc and PhD students in the department of Food Technology.
He has over 25 scholarly publications in relation to his field of specialization in high impact international and national journals, he also attended over 20 workshops, conferences, seminars and induction courses across the globe, he had presented academic papers during conferences in Asia, South Africa and locally at home.
He has been the Head of Department of Food Technology, Director School of Science and Technology (SST), Member Governing Council, Chairman Seminar and Workshop Committee, (SST) Chairman Central Examination Misconduct
Investigation Committee (CEMIC) Federal Polytechnic, for so many years before his appointment as Director Centre for Information Communication Technology (CIT).
He is a member of numerous academic and community bodies such as National Institute of Science Technology (NIST), Nigeria Institute of Food Science and Technology, International research and Development Network Institute.
